The spending at WrestleMania is ridiculous. A lot of it is actually unnecessary, especially in terms of firework displays and related extravagances. In a time of austerity, WWE can save significant money by looking at their spending around WrestleMania. There's undoubtedly finances being wasted at the show, with so much going on in and around the event. Everything from paying celebrities to putting on elaborate entrances, it all costs more money. A lot of the time, the extra spending doesn't really add value. Look at past Mania events, for example when WWE booked fighter jets to fly over the Sun Life Stadium at WrestleMania 28. What was the point? It looked great, literally for a split second. Can you imagine how much it cost to book that stunt? A whole lot of money. Hopefully this year, WWE have slashed the WrestleMania budget and will squeeze even more profitability from the event. Grandiose set pieces are all too often just wastes of money.
