12 Bizarre Pieces Of Trivia About WWE Action Figures
10. "Party" Stephanie McMahon
If you've ever collected or played with toys, action figures in particular, you've probably noticed that certain shortcuts are sometimes, not the least of which is leaving certain details unpainted to save money. Most often, it's the things which aren't viewed most frequently from a "common" angle, such as from the back of the toy, or in this case, the bottom. And in some cases, spending the extra few cents per figure would have been the better idea. Such as the case of a Stephanie McMahon figure from Jakks Pacific's 2001 Sunday Night Heat series. How the discovery went down is unknown- one can only assume it was a case of "boys will be boys"- but it was soon revealed that the figure did not have any "panties" painted on underneath her dress, leaving her effectively "naked," though not really any more explicit than a Barbie doll. Documentation is difficult to come by, but if eBay sellers are to be believed (you can stop laughing whenever you like), there was a running change of sorts as the first batch of figures were recalled and it was re-released with panties painted in their proper place. Oh, and in case you're wondering about the "Party" name? This is hardly the first time this has happened in an action figure line; the character of Angela (formerly from Image's Spawn comics, now a part of Marvel's Thor) was released in figure form by McFarlane Toys with the same missing paint application, and collectors dubbed the figure "Party" Angela. Hence "Party" Stephanie.
