12 Bizarre WWE Brand Split Gimmick Changes

8. Tommy Dreamer

Before the 2002 draft, we knew Tommy Dreamer as a hardcore icon in ECW. He was a hardworking man who wasn’t the most physically gifted person, but he made it by having one of the biggest hearts in the business.

After the 2002 draft we knew him as a guy who liked to eat hair, food off the floor and enjoyed the taste of The Undertaker’s spit-out tobacco juice. After all, he was “just a regular guy.”

Maybe it was due to his sadness from ECW going out of business, and then his side losing out on the InVasion angle, but something really got to Tommy. Thankfully the change didn’t last long. He soon turned back into his Innovator of Violence gimmick, where he proceeded to become one of WWE’s most reliable jobber for years to come.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
