In 2007, the former Mabel, and the former World’s Largest Love Machine Viscera, was drafted from Raw over to ECW. But he never made it. In his place was a guy who looked exactly like him, except he wore a singlet to show off his physique. Viscera was gone. Long live Big Daddy V!

What was odd was that the announcers didn’t come right out and say it was Viscera. Who else could it have been? They basically treated him like a new wrestler. Even more odd was that Big Daddy V was given a pretty big push at first. He teamed up with Matt Striker to beat up The Boogeyman, then became number one contender to the ECW Title. He even made it into an Elimination Chamber match.

If only Viscera knew years earlier that in order to succeed all he had to do was not wear a trench coat or pajamas to the ring. Eventually Big Daddy V’s newfound wrestling abilities left him, and he was drafted to SmackDown in 2008, never to appear on the show. Who knows what he would have turned into that time around.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
