9. How Will Tag Tournament Play Out?
A lot of the interest in the tag tournament rests with the aforementioned Dudleys/Enzo & Cass match, but there’s also an “old guard versus young lions” match brewing in the other contest. Two-time tag champs the Usos will face the Vaudevillains in the other match. There are a couple different scenarios that could play out with these combos, leading to very different situations.
Knowing that New Day are largely playing the role of good guys these days, it stands to reason we won’t see Enzo & Cass or the Usos battling for the tag titles. Probably the most interesting result would be the Dudleys cheating to win their semi-final match, beat the Usos again and then capture their 10th WWE Tag Team Championships, setting up an eventual feud with Enzo & Cass fighting from underneath.
Or maybe WWE will go all-in with the brash upstarts. Or maybe Vince McMahon really likes the old timey carny performers that the Vaudevillains evoke. Either way, with new teams involved and new dynamics, it makes this sort of tournament a little more fun.
