7. How Will Jericho/Ambrose Ramp Up?
Last week’s takeover of Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel and replacing it with the Ambrose Asylum wasn’t exactly a “set the world on fire” showdown, but it did set two outstanding talent up against each other.
A feud between Y2J and Dean Ambrose has some serious promise – provided that WWE doesn’t go the simplistic route of having Ambrose act “wacky” while Jericho acts offended. Both men are capable of much more when it comes to building a feud and playing off each other. Both can cut awesome promos.
If Ambrose is allowed to be a little more “Loose Cannon” and less “Lunatic Fringe,” then the dynamic could work nicely. But if we’re going for a family-friendly type of rivalry, then it might feel lacking. It will be interesting to see what happens this week.
