WWE has always had big plans for Baron Corbin.

His very first main roster appearance was winning the third Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32. He's continued to slowly improve his profile in showcase performances with opponents like AJ Styles and John Cena, and just when his career seems to be in a downswing, he bounces back with a memorable moment, like absolutely wrecking Sami Zayn or eliminating the invincible Braun Strowman from the 2017 Royal Rumble.

Here, in mid-2017, his rise to the very top is undeniable, but it's also slow and steady. He always comes up short against truly top names, but he never looks out of place, and each time he comes a little closer to winning. Eventually, he'll keep a top champion's shoulders down for those three crucial seconds, and it won't feel out of place. It'll feel like a long time coming.
