Maya Rudolph and Martin Short’s variety show The Maya & Marty Show recently debuted on NBC with, amongst many other things, a sketch riffing on the FX hit The People Vs. OJ: American Crime Story.

Clearly smelling blood in the water with Hulk Hogan’s highly publicised win over Gawker in court, the premise of the sketch was that FX were planning a sequel to the OJ show, that Hogan vs. Gawker was being prepped, and that WWE bobblehead John Cena and David Schwimmer were auditioning for the part of Hulk Hogan.

Martin Short’s Schwimmer impression is good, but not great: but Cena absolutely nails Hogan’s stance, his voice and his signature poses while delivering his scripted lines. Of course, the joke is that FX are going to cast Schwimmer for the role no matter how sh*t he is in the audition, because he’s Ross from bloody Friends...
