11. Edge
Now we come onto the most recent inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame, the Rated R Superstar, Edge. He has been afforded the nickname the Ultimate Opportunist, and considering all heel champions utilise a great degree of opportunism, to be regarded as the ultimate of this characteristic is some statement. Maybe Edges inclusion on this list is best demonstrated by how he won his first WWE Championship. Edge had always been on the cusp of the main event from about 2001 onwards, before injuries would often curtail his pushes. His breakout moment came on the heels of winning the Money in the Bank briefcase, and utilising that to capitalise on an injured John Cena to win the championship. The manner in which he won the title, in a few minutes of dominating an already injured opponent immediately made Edge a heat magnet, and in the following weeks he continued these deviant activities, such as the live sex celebration with Lita and attacking the legendary Ric Flair. At the end of his career Edge was a ten-time world champion, and it all began with this first title reign. If he hadnt been so successful and dislikeable, perhaps he wouldnt have reached the stardom that he now has in the eyes of the WWE Universe. Edges passion was always apparent, and his opportunistic nature made him a heel
par excellence. He seemed to revel in being hated, and despite his shortened career, one cannot suggest that the heel Edge didnt make the most of his time as a world champion.
