12 Huge AEW Double Or Nothing 2022 Predictions You Need To Know
4. The Hardys vs. The Young Bucks
The road to this tag team dream match could have done more to make the babyfaces feel endearing. Matt and Jeff Hardy's enduring overness means they are guaranteed huge pops regardless of what they do, but the duo's insistence on screaming that The Young Bucks are nought but Hardys cosplay artists doesn't exactly make them easy to get behind here. They are supposed to be the sympathetic, beaten-up veterans in this storyline, particularly as they are positioned opposite the two most obnoxious characters in the division. Instead, they have come off oddly bitter.
But the timing is absolutely right. Time won't wait for the Hardys and Young Bucks to wrestle again. With Matt and Jeff both visibly feeling the pain after decades of working such a physically intense style, it is wise to get to this bout so early in their run.
Matt and Nick Jackson will carry the load against their veteran opposition here. They can afford to eat the loss in a promotion, given their bulletproof cache, and it appears, following the verbiage used on Dynamite, that AEW wants to run The Hardys against the World Tag Team Champions in one final glory run. Besting AEW's tag doyens would facilitate that.
