12 Huge WWE Dream Matches That Were Supposed To Happen But Didn’t

12. Hulk Hogan Vs Ric Flair (WrestleMania VIII)

Hogan versus Flair was a huge match in 1992. Fans were clamouring to see the two collide since Flair had been synonymous with rival organisation WCW and Hogan was the face of the WWF during the 1980's and into the '90s. The two had squared off on house shows and in tag matches but had never had a big televised singles match against each other. There was significant interest in the match and it was decided that the best stage for it would be WrestleMania VIII. But somewhere along the way plans changed and Flair ended up facing Randy Savage at the show while Hogan took on Sid. There is no doubt that the original plan, however, was Flair versus Hogan and the two even had a mock press conference on television to promote the bout. So how come it never made it to 'Mania? Word is that Vince was unhappy with how the matches came across on house shows and didn't think it delivered to its full potential. The house show matches between the two had also under-performed at the box-office. It's a shame the match never happened on a WWF pay-per-view but at least fans got to see it not too long after in WCW.
