8. Genki 'Neo-Samurai' Sudo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJCFtT65PBo Japanese pop culture sensation Genki Sudo may have left competitive fighting in December 2006, but his 16-4 record is nothing to sniff at. Since his retirement, Sudo has pursued artistic and musical avenues of expression, leading a techno troupe World Order, who specialise in synchronised robotic movements. This ones out of left field but hold on a moment. Sudos a true maverick, famous for his theatrical ring entrances during his fight career (including costumed dancers, elaborate props and choreography), as well as his unorthodox, creative fighting style. At 5 foot 9 inches tall and 37 years old, he may not be everyones idea of the WWE developmental rookie but his taste for the esoteric and flamboyant cant fail to inspire. Now, WWE already have the ultra-talented KENTA, now known as Hideo Itami, on hand in NXT: the man to whom IWC darlings Daniel Bryan and CM Punk owe a significant portion of their style and moveset, and one of the best professional wrestlers in the world. Ever since Itami signed with WWE, his hardcore fanbase have been concerned that, at best, the hard hitting 15 year veteran would be lost in the shuffle and at worst, would find himself saddled with a crypto-racist stereotypically oriental gimmick should he transition to the main roster. However, should he have the creative management of the charismatic Genki Sudo, it could well be a different story. After all, nothing gets over with the WWE audience quite like sheer talent combined with overweening charisma combined with something radical theyve never seen before. An Itami/Sudo pairing could give them a taste of Japan theyve never experienced.
