9. Paul Bearer Turns On Undertaker
Going into SummerSlam 1996, all signs seemed to point to Undertaker defeating Mankind. Foley had triumphed in their bout at King of the Ring, and it seemed only a matter of time until The Phenom got his win back.
The fact he'd have to do so in a 'Boiler Room Brawl' seemed incidental, although the stipulation was weighted in Mankind's favour. He did, after all, live in boiler rooms (or so the tale went). The first man to make his way to the ring and retrieve Undertaker's urn from Paul Bearer would win.
In the end, however, the deciding factor wasn't the match's surroundings, but a shocking betrayal on the part of Bearer. Undertaker's longtime mentor refused to hand over the urn, allowing Mankind to slap on the Mandible Claw, before taking matters into his own hands and symbolically clocking the Deadman with the object.
