If Lana and Rusev can get engaged and shatter kayfabe completely, then why in the hell is Cody Rhodes still doing a David Bowie impersonation when he's a cool guy with a smoking hot wife, "bizarre" older brother, and dad who was one of the most iconic wrestlers of all time? Like, WE ALL KNOW WHO HE IS (and he should be allowed to run with it). Cody Rhodes is absurdly talented at many things. He's a classically trained actor and a damned great pro wrestler. As well, his brother is Goldust, his dad is Dusty Rhodes and his wife is the Smackdown ring announcer. Could a run of promos with Cody Rhodes calling himself "the most interesting man in the world" and pulling the curtain all the way down about his character be something worthwhile? Of course. Cody Rhodes has had approximately 100 million gimmicks during his run in WWE. Maybe just letting Cody be himself (and only himself) turned up to 110% is the answer. It's certainly worth a try.
