AS: Had you always wanted to run your own wrestling school, or when did that idea come about?

SD: It's actually something he (Ken) and I had talked about a lot, but no it wasn't like a real idea or thought until my little brother got sent to NXT. He came back and told me what the Performance Center was like. He got hired to do the Cruiserweight stuff, they knew of him and he went to the arenas and the dark matches and they said ‘hey you’re really good come to NXT for a week’ and they’re bringing in all these other guy. He was in the same camp that they signed Kevin Owens.

Then when he came back and told me what the Performance Center was, I was like ‘man that's awesome that's kind of exactly what I've always been thinking about, but I wasn't smart enough to see what was missing from the wrestling school.’

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
