10. Modeling Their School After WWE

AS: What makes your facility different than the rest?

SD: So I literally modeled our facility after the Performance Center. My brother gave me the scoop on what they're doing, and then I went online and researched what they were doing, and we looked at their press release and the ESPN documentary and saw how they were doing it. We just knew the current way people were being trained was so dated.

I remember when they opened up FCW, and they (WWE) had one training center in Atlanta that Bill DeMott ran, so that was a brand new facility up and running, and I went down there to look at some guys that they wanted to put me in a tag team with, and it was f*****g crap. It was so bad I was like 'holy f**k.'

I think at the time it was maybe 2007, I was like 'this is what they created in 2007? Are you s******g me?' So years later, my brother told me about the Performance Center and Triple H knew exactly what it was. And when we designed it we were like 'let's do that.'

But they only let you go there if you're signed, so the guys that aren't signed, where can they get that kind of experience?

I really want our school to be for someone that knows what they want to be, but doesn't know where to get started. We think success it up to the student, so whatever that student's idea of success is, we want to help them achieve it

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
