12 Things We Just Learned About Brock Lesnar's UFC Fight From Paul Heyman

9. Could Anyone Else Follow Lesnar Into Both Worlds Simultaneously?

Heyman was also asked who he thought might be have the potential to jump either from WWE to UFC or the other way round, which is where his advocacy of Lesnar really kicked in.

"The short answer to that is no."

At length, Heyman then spoke about Lesnar's unique qualifications and unique drive to be part of UFC and WWE simultaneously.

"I have all the respect in the world - more than some would believe - for John Cena. But John Cena could not main-event WrestleMania, main-event SummerSlam and then walk into the Octagon in true heavyweight competition against another heavyweight UFC fighter. Nor could Conor McGregor - the biggest box office attraction with the exception of Brock Lesnar in UFC - go from a UFC fight and then transfer over to do all the hype, all the television, all the publicity, all the appearances going in to a WWE event and then continue to perform at THE top level in sports entertainment. It just can't happen."

Basically, it's an unrealistic ask...

"Ronda Rousey can make an appearance at WrestleMania, but can she work a full schedule to promote WrestleMania and then get into the Octagon whether it be Holly Holm or Miesha Tate? And Miesha Tate couldn't either, and nor could any WWE superstar pull that off. Nor could a UFC top level competitor. The fact is, you can't expect them to: it would be unrealistic to expect that... This is something not even Dana White or Vince McMahon could pull off... There's only one being on the face of the planet that could possibly pull this off. And his name is Brock Lesnar."

Amongst the hyperbole and the showmanship though, he has a point, it's hard to think of anyone who could manage to simultaneously exist in both spheres.

It would surely be more likely that ending association with one company could lead to a new career in the other. But what if Conor McGregor was a Heyman guy, could he do it then?

"It would matter to me because I'd love a piece of his income and again, it would be nice to have Connor McGregor appear at WWE SummerSlam on August 21st or to be able to feature Connor McGregor in this game that comes out on October 11th or to have Conor McGregor at WrestleMania... I'd LOVE for Connor McGregor to be a Paul Heyman guy, but Connor McGregor cannot walk between these two worlds let alone these two universes like Brock Lesnar. It's just not a possibility. It's what makes Brock Lesnar unique."
