Here's the big question: given Vince McMahon's notorious fondness for control and his famously unwavering stance on his core principles, does the fact that Brock Lesnar has been allowed this opportunity represent a change in his perspective on the business of WWE?

Likewise does the hiring and pushing of AJ Styles, the new talent acquisitions and the CWC also reflect that something is changing at the top of the company? Heyman seems pretty clear on McMahon's existing pliability:

"I think Vince McMahon's perspective changes several times per day and it has to if you want to survive in today's constantly changing environment. I think the entire concept of the WWE Network is an indication that Vince McMahon's perspective is constantly changing because the WWE Network has created a completely different business model for WWE itself."

Spoken like a true advocate. But what about Lesnar: it's an unprecedented deal, and it's one that Vince could suffer badly from if it goes awry.

"I can't say that what Brock Lesnar is doing is indicative of anything regarding Vince McMahon, because the only two people who truly know Vince's level of acceptance of Brock walking between these two worlds are Brock and Vince because those are the two who had the conversation about this. So to answer it sharply, I don't think that Brock walking between the two worlds is indicative of Vince's acceptance of change. I do believe Vince accepts change on a daily basis and his perception and the way that he views the industry always changes. Because the moment it doesn't change, he's going to be left behind by someone else that comes along with a newer, different concept."
