12 Things We Learned From Justin Gabriel On Talk Is Jericho

7. Quitting Via Text Message

He reveals to Jericho that he quit over the phone through a text message, something which Vince and Hunter were understandably upset with. He wasn't booked for three straight weeks of TV, not even a dark match, while his frustration continued build. One day while in Austin, Texas he decided to just leave and go skydiving. He returned hours later after multiple jumps to find that no one even noticed he was gone. This led him to book his own flight home so he could get back a day early since he hadn't been there in several weeks. In between connecting flights he starts getting calls from referees and Talent Relations executive Mark Carrano asking where he is because he's booked in the next segment. Black just texts back saying to tell them he quit. A few days go by and he doesn't hear anything, and the gravity of the situation begins to hit him. At first he worries that he'll regret it, but quickly realizes that he didn't because he actually felt happy. He was actually given his 90 days and said everything turned out okay. The WWE boss basically told him "Maybe in a few years...the door is still open but it's going to be awfully hard to get back in."
