12 Things We Learned From WWE Hall Of Fame 2016
1. Sting Has Officially Retired
Sting ended his rousing induction speech with the announcement that every wrestling fan has been dreading for months. He said, "The only thing sure about Sting is that nothing's for sure...until now. On this very night, at this very moment, I'm gonna finish my wrestling career under the WWE umbrella, and I'm so proud of that. I am officially going to retire tonight."
Cue a shocked and disappointed but grateful crowd, who gave Sting a huge ovation as he told them, "I want you to know this isn't goodbye, it's just 'See you later'". It was a super-classy way to give fans a fond farewell, even if we're of course hoping that this is a massive swerve and we'll get to see Sting vs The Undertaker next year.
The fact that Sting said he doesn't take this sort of thing lightly suggests he's probably being honest with us, though. Sad times.
