Steve Austin certainly wasn't the first wrestler Vince McMahon really got behind, but 'The Rattlesnake' was given the most unique push in company history, largely feuding with his boss. Never before had McMahon appeared so regularly in physical confrontations on WWE television, but upon being pushed into the scathing heat of the spotlight following the 'Montreal Screwjob' of Bret Hart, Vince really appeared to be enjoying himself. Noting on Austin's podcast recently that he was getting to live out his own dreams during the McMahon vs. Austin rivalry, the WWE owner shone as the most cretinous villain ever to grace a wrestling ring. After all, what is easier to hate than a man who constantly reminds the audience he's in charge, whilst also arrogantly noting that he has their best interests at heart? It may seem controversial, but even Austin himself has posed the question - would the 'Stone Cold' character have reached the heights it did had it not been for the excellent ying McMahon played to Austin's yang?
