12 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Royal Rumble

10. The Undertaker Got Eliminated By Maven In 2002

It was probably the best surprise elimination in the history of the Rumble match when the rookie Maven hit a dropkick to the back of the heel Undertaker and sent him over the top to the floor. That was a moment that shocked the wrestling world. After the match was over, that's what people were talking about more than Triple H's win of the Rumble match. Do you ever hear WWE talk about it? Nope. There are two reasons why. 1) Vince McMahon reportedly hated the "Big Evil" version of Undertaker from 2000 to 2003 when he was a heel. They don't like putting it over. Because of that, you won't hear this elimination being talked about ever. 2) Maven turned out to be such a flop that his history in WWE is pretty much ignored. It was a great idea for a spot in a match, but they picked the wrong rookie to do it. It's a shame that it has become a moment that is completely ignored. It was great to see back then as a surprise elimination and it holds up all these years later.
