4. There’s A Must See ‘Street Fight’
You've got to love it when Shawn Michaels sells like the rent is due (he should've tapped up JBL) and dons the proverbial crimson mask. Splice in Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler giving it their all on commentary and Edge being one of the most vindictive heels around, and you've got pro wrestling-meets-sports entertainment perfection.
Edge and HBK's 'Street Fight' on the 22 January 2007 Raw was their second on the flagship in a few years. They'd met in a similar match back in 2005 as well. Which one is better? That's up to individual taste, but Edge was a much better and well-rounded character by '07 if that helps sway anybody sitting on the fence.
It was a vicious brawl that's well worth going out of your way to watch. That 22 January Raw was the go home episode before Royal Rumble too, so there was some Rumble-related build involving Randy Orton, Ric Flair and a bunch of others after the bout, but the actual ‘Street Fight’ itself was amazing and stacked with drama.
You knew things were about to get serious when both workers came to the ring for a brawl wearing their jeans. That's a genuine statement. This writer and his pals would high five one another if guys came out rocking the Levi's, because that normally meant things were gonna get wild and woolly.
One of the best things about '07's Raw output was that it had variety. For example, this Edge vs. Shawn match was completely different to the Triple H vs. Ric Flair clash examined earlier.
