7. Vs. Bill Goldberg - WrestleMania XX
Brock Lesnar would lose the WWE Championship to Eddie Guerrero in an incredible match at No Way Out, but it wasn't without controversy - Bill Goldberg, whom Lesnar had attacked at the Royal Rumble, helped Guerrero claim victory. That set up a match between the two behemoths at Madison Square Garden's WrestleMania XX.
In reality, both men were leaving the company after the match - Goldberg because his contract was up and he had no desire to renew, and Lesnar because he was granted his release to pursue a career in the NFL. The fans in attendance knew both guys had one foot out the door and vehemently booed the bout. The result was a complete mess.
Before Lesnar requested his release, it was presumed that he would go over in the match. However, there was no reason to protect "The Next Big Thing" once it was known he was leaving, so in a failed effort to please the fans, Goldberg was put over, pinning Brock clean with the Jackhammer as fans jeered.
