Of all the crazy omissions (Lou Thesz, Dynamite Kid, Freebirds etc.) and saddening inclusions (Drew Carey, Donald Trump), the WWE has one glaring gap in their Hall of Fame that fans almost uniformly want filled, and filled by the sadly deceased finger twirling, elbow dropping madman that was Macho Man Randy Savage. The two-time WWE Champion was a phenomenal force in the late '80s and early '90s having memorable feuds at the top of the card with the likes of Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior. When he was a face he was worshipped, when he was a heel, only slightly less so. His 14 month Intercontinental title run, which was ended by Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat in an all-time classic match at Wrestlemania 3 in 1987, is largely regarded as the reign that legitimised the belt. CM Punk incorporated Savage's flying elbow into his move set following Macho Man's tragic death after suffering a heart attack at the wheel in 2011. That's the kind of regard in which he's held. Yet there's no place for him in the Hall of Fame. Some say this is down to his brother Lanny Poffo insisting that if Savage is entered then the whole Poffo family must be entered simultaneously. Others say...Well, others say that Vince McMahon has a very good reason to not include Savage that it would be wise not to repeat here. Either way the fans lose out once again.
