12 TNA Talents Unfairly Held Back

9. Monty Brown

What He Was: One of the first non-WWE guys to get a legitimate push in the TNA Heavyweight Division. He had a great look along with incredibly unique and entertaining mic skills. By the time he left, though, he was cast aside in favor of some incoming WWE talent. What He Should Have Been: A World Champion. While he wasn't a great in-ring wrestler by any means, fans wanted something new. Brown was briefly that man during his feud with Jeff Jarrett during the company€™s Fox Sports run. Fans were sick of Double J, and desperately wanted a new top star. Sadly, TNA never gave Brown the belt due to some shenanigans in their matches, and stuck with the boss instead. After that feud, Brown joined up with Planet Jarrett and was pretty much doomed. He was still a higher mid-card guy, but his hopes of being a top star for the company were gone. He then moved away from the Serengeti into WWE where he was briefly known as Marquis Cor Von (before inexplicably changing his name to Marcus the next week). Once again, not letting someone go over on Jarrett hurt TNA's own talent, and company, in the long run.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
