12 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Feb 26)

10. A Neat Video Package

Cody MJF
WWE

MJF and Cody weren't in the building last night, and that's fine. This is the hottest and best-built programme in the company. It didn't need an extra level and in limiting the duo to a single video package, AEW let other feuds and storylines shine on this Revolution go-home show, as whatever MJF and Cody would've served up may have overshadowed a segment like the Jon Moxley/Chris Jericho weigh-in.

The vignette itself was tremendous. WWE's video production team are the best in the business but with this and other recent offerings as evidence, AEW's isn't far behind. Starting with nostalgic greyscale footage of some of the duo's best moments as friends, it cycled through the turn, promos, rage, emotion, brawls, stipulations, the brutal Wardlow cage match, the 10 lashings, and literally everything that matters in this narrative. Slick, well-produced stuff, and an easy way to keep the pay-per-view match bubbling without dedicating more than a couple of minutes to it.

Could MJF vs. Cody main event on Saturday night? It's the most over thing in AEW so yeah, it's possible.
