12 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Feb 26)

8. Jim F'n Ross

It's a shame that Jim Ross' (admittedly hilarious) Horny on Main moment had to happen last night because it has completely overshadowed what was an excellent announcing performance from the legend, who was as close to his vintage best as you're going to get in 2020.

JR was in great form. His engagement and energy first became apparent in the Kenny Omega vs. PAC match. "What a match! What a wrestling match!", his excitement proclaimed on his behalf. The man was clearly lost in the moment, flying by the seat of his pants, and calling an absorbing, enthralling wrestling match in a way that reflected the viewer's own buzz.

Later, his incredulity at Jake Hager slamming Dustin Rhodes into a certain concessions cart was genuinely hilarious. "The damn Dipping Dots didn't do anything to anybody!"

You love to see this kind of performance from Ross, particularly after his teething pains in the AEW booth. He's smashing it right now.
