12 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door

9. FTR Takes All

FTR's glittering, gold-paved 2022 continued with their IWGP World Tag Team Title win over Roppongi Vice and United Empire's Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan, with this latest triumph meaning Cash Wilder and Dax Harwood now simultaneously hold ROH, AAA, and NJPW's top straps. Presumably, the perennial contenders will now look to cement their near-complete industry dominance by challenging for familiar foes The Young Bucks' AEW World Tag Team Championships in the not-too-distant future.

Dax and Cash deserve it. Now operating at a level above even their NXT vintage, in tag and singles matches, they have comfortably been the world's best tag team in 2022. These title runs are just rewards for two master craftsmen hell-bent on going down as all-time greats in their chosen field.

Harwood was tremendous here, working a fake shoulder injury into the bout without disrupting its flow, leaving Wheeler to fend for himself for extended stretches. Re-emerging to a great reception late one, Dax's absence allowed Great-O-Khan, in particular, to shine while he was away, though the Big Rig on Romero ended up scoring FTR the victory.
