12 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (November 8 - Results & Review)

1. The Elite Roar Back Into Life, And Chris Jericho Is There Too

Kenny Omega Chris Jericho The Young Bucks

That title might read as flippant, but at this point it's easier to just lean into Chris Jericho's storyline succubus role than it is fight against it. And if he started this segment as the square peg in a round hole, he ended it making things perfectly clear how - if at all - he fitted into any of this.

On an episode of Dynamite that felt loaded with micro-responses to widespread criticisms of AEW's macro issues, The Elite delivered their best collective promos in forever, set up a sort-of dream match with big stakes, actually mentioned those seemingly-forgotten stakes, and all felt like they actually wanted to be part of the show again.

There's a down buried within the up - the idea of another Young Bucks Vs Kenny+1 match instantly felt bigger than the gaming crossover eight-man between Omega, Jericho, Paul Wight and Kota Ibushi and The Don Callis family. That story sputtering to an ostensibly daft conclusion is a marker of one too many creative misfires between 'The Best Bout Machine' and his former aide, but it will conclude just in time for this intriguing founder members' derby at Full Gear.

The Young Bucks Vs The Golden Jets can't be Revolution 2020 or NJPW Strong Style Evolved 2018, but it can be something close. Chris Jericho has his own locker room, but he's got the ego to want to get a seat in The Elite's too. Get hyped.
