12 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (November 8 - Results & Review)

Downs…

1. Samoa Joe Vs Keith Lee

Samoa Joe Keith Lee
AEW

It was hard to classify this as anything more than a big disappointment.

One of several matches on this card that felt like an attempt from Tony Khan to present versions of all the things his core loves (awesome uses of the vast roster in the form of cool graphics, meaningful title matches, storyline developments that actually hold up under scrutiny), Samoa Joe Vs Keith Lee seemingly existed to get everybody hyped for meaty exchange.

It was something less than that, and featured a curious development at the end that probably did more harm than good. Mostly flat and oddly one-sided for a 10+ minute title match, the two had a good wrestling match that did almost as little to serve winner Joe as it did the loser Lee. Heaping more dirt on a listless run for 'Limitless' of late, 'The Samoan Submission Machine' surrendered the ROH Television Title after breaking the longevity record, leaving it in the ring to be scooped up by...well, anybody but Keith basically.

This didn't feel like a good sign for Ring Of Honor, especially with a December pay-per-view to build. Even if a chase for this title fills television time, will nobody stop to ask why the last holder rendered it not really worth his time befoehand?
