12 Ups & 13 Downs For WWE In 2019 (So Far)

Ups...

12. Andrade Vs. Rey Mysterio

While the storyline didn't get the pay-per-view blow-off its stellar ring-work warranted, Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade was a delightful feud to kick SmackDown's year of programming off.

Both of their big TV matches ruled. A revitalised Rey performed like a man 10 years his junior, pulling off all manner of risky spots against the younger, healthier Andrade. There were big dives, Powerbombs on the floor, sliding splashes with chairs, and Mysterio sending Andrade bombing into the barricade. Two glorious displays of in-ring oneupsmanship, they remain among the best matches WWE have put on all year.

The most refreshing thing about Andrade vs. Mysterio was that it was a pure wrestling feud. These guys weren't warring because 'El Idolo' had upset Dominick or trashed Rey's car, but because these guys wanted to prove they were the better man between the ropes, and WWE let them do their thing with few restrictions when the time came.
