12 Ups & 13 Downs For WWE In 2019 (So Far)

1. KofiMania

This wasn't supposed to happen.

If Ali doesn't get injured prior to Elimination Chamber, Kofi Kingston doesn't replace him in the WWE Championship scene, doesn't embark on his feud with Daniel Bryan, and doesn't star in one of the most emotional WrestleMania 35 moments of all time.

One of the most compelling babyface chase stories this company has ever produced simply wouldn't exist. It's almost shocking to think about.

That KofiMania was the story heading into this year's 'Showcase Of The Immortals' when Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair were in the main event speaks volumes. Since then, Kingston has been an exemplary WWE Champion, losing just one bout since before 'Mania while racking up six successful defences in less than 90 days. Everything from the matches to the character work still feels fresh and exciting. He's doing everything that's expected of him, and that's incredibly heartening after well over a decade under WWE employ.

Lord knows when the journey will end, but this is still the best thing in WWE in 2019.
