12 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Mar 11)

6. Trios Match Overdelivers

The Butcher and The Blade MJF
AEW

Jurassic Express vs. The Butcher, The Blade, and MJF was always going to be a hoot, because Jurassic Express never let you down, but it ended up overdeliver on those expectations thanks, in part, to its different layout.

You usually know what you're getting with Jurassic. Marko Stunt will get swatted, Jungle Boy will take a prolonged beatdown, and Luchasaurus will tag in to clear the ring to monster pops. Here, they flipped it. Luchasaurus ran wild early on but ate much of the heat, with MJF and his henchmen grinding the big man down via a focused, knee-based assault. This built towards a tremendous hot tag from Jungle Boy after Luchasaurus had literally dragged MJF and The Blade across the ring while they were attached to their ankles, and it rocked the building.

A spectacular rope-step senton from Luchasaurus wasn't enough to take the bout. With the prehistoric bad*ss battered by Wardlow on the outside, MJF locked his Salt of the Earth armbar in on Marko, scoring the W. The right outcome, with the dissent teased between Stunt and Jungle Boy hopefully heading somewhere too.
