12 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Mar 5)

9. Cabana Shines In Boom-Boom Opener

Colt Cabana
AEW

Colt Cabana being on national television is a lovely thing indeed. The guy has spent his whole career building great content for wrestling fans and was rewarded by getting absolutely f*cked by his "best friend" following a nasty court battle with WWE. He has earned this, and he performed like he was having the time of his life last night.

Cabana teamed with SoCal Uncensored to face a full Dark Order quartet of Evil Uno, Grayson, John Silver, and Alex Reynolds. A continuation of their Revolution Buy In angle, it felt well-paced and urgent, with SCU desperate to kick the tar out of the Order after recent goings-on. The tone fit the programme, though the Order found a window to wear Daniels down over time, building to a big Frankie Kazarian hot tag. Later, Uno was isolated and forced to face SoCal Uncensored head-on, without his meat shields, for the first time.

An awesome Scorpio Sky wiped everyone but Silver out towards the end, allowing Colt to hit the Chicago Skyline and his Superman pin for the victory. The Exalted One draws nearer, we're told, but this was an earned babyface triumph.
