12 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Mar 12)

7. Shane The Shameless

Holy hell, Shane McMahon's show-opening promo kicked arse.

The former SmackDown Commissioner had promised to answer for his decision to turn on The Miz at Fastlane. He sauntered his way down to the ring, where his 'Best In The World' trophy waited for him, then forced Greg Hamilton to repeat his introduction with a level of gusto usually reserved for AJ Styles' walkout. It was the first big d*ck move in a promo full of them.

Shane's justification was simple: he's sick and tired of having to help others get ahead. This came to an end at Fastlane, where he proved he was the "best in the world" because he was "born this way," and now, it's time to "start doing things for me."

McMahon felt good when he battered Miz in front of his dad. He felt "liberated." Apparently, we viewers need to "get used to it" too, and Shane finally challenged 'The A-Lister' for WrestleMania to close his diatribe, having hammered his points home with proper McMahon brand c*ntiness.
