12 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Full Gear

6. Selling 101

The Young Bucks vs. Pride and Powerful was an incredibly well-executed tag bout built largely around Nick Jackson's impeccable limb selling, further proving that anyone who still clings onto the false idea that the Bucks can't sell is either full it, playing contrarian, or simply not paying attention to the product.

Nick was excellent here. He destroyed his shin early on, whacking it straight into the ring post as Ortiz ducked a kick. He was limping and hobbling around thereafter, with his leg totally collapsing on a Meltzer Driver attempt. The younger Jackson would battle through the pain later on, coursing on adrenaline to battle Ortiz and Santana one-on-two, though each offensive move dealt further damage to the ruined limb, leading, ultimately to his defeat.

While the bout-ending Street Sweeper on Nick could've been built to a tad better, the rest of the match ruled. The Rock 'N' Roll express were shown at ringside early on and Pride and Powerful eventually threw Matt over the barricade and on top of them, providing the impetus for the post-match angle. The victors were as scrappy and nasty as you'd expect, too, proving their versatility in a slower, more story-driven bout than many would have expected, and propelling themselves towards the top of the pile in victory.
