And so we come to this: 'Death Rider' Jon Moxley's long-awaited NJPW debut against IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Juice Robinson. "This is going to be a fight," the former CJ Parker beforehand. "It's going to be a brawl." He was right.

This was every bit the wild, controllable scrap fans were led to inspect. The duo laid into each other with reckless strikes from the very first bell, and it took no time before it spilt outside, with Moxley throwing his charismatic opponent around like a football. The crowd brawl backfired for him as Juice laid him out then dived from the entranceway, but the match got no prettier from there. Busted open, Robinson took the fight to ringside, destroying his back with a missed cannonball against the barriers, giving his opponent a route back in.

Moxley vs. Juice is a must-see match not because it hit *****, but because it was our first glimpse of what the former Dean Ambrose can do outside WWE. He looks like a straight-up killer. Reborn as a violent, scuzzy brawler, Mox shone even brighter than his sublime opponent, and in victory, he scored a major NJPW title on his first night with the company. Bravo.
