Bandido Will Ospreay
NJPW

Anyone who caught Will Ospreay and Bandido's WrestleMania weekend clash will have known what to expect from their BOSJ rematch: two of the world's most athletic wrestlers performing at the state of the art, and the tournament's most giffable contest up to that point.

Not only was this a dizzying display of spectacular spots and superhuman feats, but a compelling game of in-ring one-upsmanship. While there were flippydoos, this wasn't a mere acrobatics display. What we got was Bandido and Ospreay constantly countering out of each other's signature offence in new ways, with each trying to prove themselves the superior wrestlers, all while working in some of the year's most pop-worthy spots. What's to complain about?

This was Bandido's true New Japan coming out party. Him matching Ospreay's every move brought a wonderful sense of escalation, and it was great to see him keep a frantic, insane pace with one of the clubhouse leaders for 2019's 'Best Wrestler in the World' award. He's a star, now. Push him to the moon.
