12 Ups And 15 Downs For WWE In 2017 (2nd Opinion)

9. Implosion Of Wyatt Family

As 2017 began, the new version of the Wyatt Family seemed like it could be a fun, dominant force on SmackDown. Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton and Luke Harper were an interesting and talented trio. They had only days earlier lost the tag titles, but could regain then and have a good run in 2017.

And then it all went to hell in a handbasket.

First, Harper had a falling out and was gone from the family before January ended. Then Orton won the Royal Rumble and subsequently refused to face new WWE Champion Wyatt. But it all turned out to be a massive swerve, as Orton burned down the Wyatt compound and turned on Bray.

The two had an awful, horrific “match” at WrestleMania that was more notable for the projection of worms on the ring mat than anything else. Spooky. And then the feud ended when Wyatt defeated Orton in a House of Horrors “match” after Bray had been drafted to Raw.

Looking at what could have been versus what actually happened is enough to make your head hurt.
