12 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Clash Of Champions 2019

7. The Best Outcome

Becky Lynch Sasha Banks

Going into Clash of Champions, there weren’t a lot of options for the Raw Women’s Championship match that didn’t stink. If Becky Lynch lost, that would be the end of her five-month reign on top of the women’s division. If Sasha Banks lost, then she would fall short right at the beginning of her big return.

So they booked a DQ finish, with Sasha introducing a chair and using it, only for Becky to steal it, swing it, and hit the referee. Then they’d continue to brawl for another five minutes, making the feud look personal and intense rather than just a wrestling match that ended with the bell. Becky got to leave with her title, and Sasha left with an argument for a rematch without getting beat into oblivion.

And with Hell in a Cell being the next PPV, you’ve got to wonder if that’s where they’re heading. Even if not, this still should be a good match next month, and it’ll be fun to see where they go on Raw.
