12 Ways Famous Wrestling Streaks Ended

4. The Ultimate Warrior Defeats Hulk Hogan €“ WrestleMania 6

HulkaMania had been running wild since 1983. No one had cleanly pinned The Hulkster in that time-span. Didn€™t happen. Andre the Giant kind of did, but it was a fast count from an illegal referee who was paid off by The Million Dollar Man. That doesn€™t count! Fast-forward to 1990 and there was a new kid on the block. The Ultimate Warrior, then-Intercontinental Champion, had been gaining steam as the heir to Hogan€™s throne. When the two bumped into each other during the 1990 Royal Rumble, the stage was set. WrestleMania 6 provided as even a match as it gets. When the opening bell sounded in Toronto, the two colorful Superstars who built their careers on theatrics went out in front of the crowd and WORKED. In the most pivotal moment of the night, Hogan looked for his Atomic Leg Drop that had ended the dreams of countless opponents in the past, but he came up empty. Warrior moved in the nick of time, hit the ropes, and delivered his finishing splash. The referee counted to three and a new champion was officially crowned, temporarily ending HulkaMania.
