Sheamus received one of the most abrupt and puzzling pushes in WWE history in 2009, when he debuted on the Raw brand, won a battle royal for a WWE Title shot, and defeated John Cena to become champion within the span of two months. Fans didn't warm up to the bland newcomer, and it was a couple of years before his talent developed to the expected level. By 2012, Sheamus was a successful World Heavyweight Champion and a solid #3 babyface in the company. However, injuries and bad booking slowed his momentum, and even a heel turn earlier this year couldn't muster more than a continuous "You look stupid" chant from the fans. he wasn't a tippity top guy any more. That didn't stop creative from putting the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on him, though. In a shockingly disappointing ending, Survivor Series 2015 ended with Sheamus cashing-in his Money in the Bank briefcase and beating Roman Reigns for his newly-won title. Once again, Sheamus finds himself the WWE Champion nobody takes seriously.
