Hands down the worst offender from Brock Lesnar's 2014 championship vacation, Hell In A Cell 2014 is a rotten exhibition of modern WWE mundanity outside of a passable main event that still suffers the indignity of a woeful finish.

Crudely unsupported by a lacklustre undercard, fans were less than impressed with a double main event inside the steel featuring John Cena and Randy Orton's twenty-fifth match together on pay-per-view and a maiden visit to the top of the card for Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose that trundled along acceptably until a farcical conclusion.

Having been hoofed from heel unit The Authority just before the show, Orton was a newly-minted babyface against perennial good egg John Cena which knackered the traditional dynamic they had fostered through their endlessly tiresome encounters.

Cena prevailed with an Attitude Adjustment through a table to become Number One Contender to Lesnar's gold, but would ultimately fight again for the privilege before getting that shot several months later.

Meanwhile, Rollins and Ambrose brawled atop the cell to kick off their main event, but succumbed to Wyatt Family silliness when a hologram appeared in the ring to distract the 'Lunatic Fringe' shortly before he curb-stomped Seth through a cinder block.

Wyatt's sudden attack during the diversion brought the contest to a screeching halt, allowing Rollins to sneak a pin then p*ss off out of shot to allow for some staring and empty contemplation.
