Derrick Bateman was never anything more than a funny diversion on Season 4 of NXT’s old format, but Ethan Carter III is a completely different story.

Released from WWE in 2013 after an a long period in FCW and NXT, EC3 has emerged as a rare shining light during one of TNA’s darkest periods. Debuting as owner Dixie Carter’s spoiled nephew, EC3 is proof that anything is possible in professional wrestling, as his career finally reached its apex with a compelling character after over a decade in the business.

When Jim Ross says you’re the only reason to tune into your promotion, that says something. EC3 is the total package: an excellent wrestler, an attention-grabbing presence on the mic, a brilliant heel, and a solid babyface.
