First things first, nobody in their right mind spells Jackson that way. Not even the people in their wrong mind. No word on the planet should be spelt "Jaxson." Even at the height of the Attitude Era, when wacky spellings were 10-a-penny. "Jackson Ryker" would be fine. Jaxson is an abomination.

Besides, everyone knows him as Gunner anyway. It is still early days in the big man’s WWE career but only the most ardent of Gunner Guys would hold out hope that his run in Stamford is going to top his work in TNA. In DixieLand, Gunner was a big overachiever. He started off as a member of a security tag team, only to flourish and find himself as a badass in the upper reaches of the card.

TNA never fully pulled the trigger on Gunner (pun very much intended) but they understood his value enough to use him as a threatening member of the roster in both singles and tag team competition. Gunner’s tenure in TNA is probably best remembered for a lengthy feud with his partner-turned-foe James Storm, reminding everybody that trusting James Storm is a fool’s errand.

Can Gunner succeed in WWE? He could have, but Jaxson? Come on.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
