12 Wrestlers Who Retired In 2018
7. Alex Shelley
Alex Shelley's career is definitely a case of right wrestler, wrong time. Had he been in his prime now, the former TNA and ROH man would surely be tearing up NXT, probably alongside his old Motor City Machine Guns pal Chris Sabin. As it is, Shelley has retired from wrestling to concentrate on running his training school.
He's only 35 years old.
To put that comment into perspective, Shelley is only two years older than current NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, and a full six years younger than fellow TNA alumni AJ Styles. Nonetheless, after suffering some injuries over the summer, ROH cut Shelley free from his contract and he announced his imminent retirement a few days later.
