12 Wrestlers WWE Removed From History

5. Jeff Jarrett

Vince McMahon really doesn't like Jeff Jarrett, hence why he fired him live on air during the Raw / Nitro simulcast in 2001. The animosity stems from Jarrett leaving the WWF in 1999, extorting money from McMahon on the way out of the door. Because he was Intercontinental Champion and his contract ran out before the company could book him to drop the belt, he demanded a reported $300,000 to work No Mercy 1999 and do the job. McMahon had further reason to whitewash Jarrett from WWE history, when he went on to found and compete in TNA Wrestling. It has never really been meaningful competition to WWE, but it has been the closest thing. With all that in mind, WWE covered up Double J's 1993 - 96 run, and his 1997 -99 run. He's a six time Intercontinental Champion, with only Chris Jericho having had more reigns with the belt!
