12 Wrestlers WWE Removed From History

4. Ultimate Warrior

Like Alundra Blayze, Ultimate Warrior was expunged from WWF history, only to be brought back after a near twenty year outcasting. Not only did they remove him from history, they also used their production power to alienate what history he did have. The Self Destruction Of Ultimate Warrior DVD was a project to recast him as a major failure and deluded weirdo, when he had in fact been one of Vince's biggest stars in the late eighties / early nineties WWF popularity. From 1997 until the release of the DVD in 2005, fans barely heard Warrior mentioned at all. His title wins and major moments were hidden, even though many fans remembered him as one of the iconic figures in their childhood fandom of WWF. Vince had good reason for wanting to rewrite Warrior's glories. He'd held the company up for money with SummerSlam 91, in addition to other backstage dramas through his 1992 and 1996 runs. It wasn't up until 2013, with money to be made in WWE 2K and Hall Of Fame spots, that WWE finally brought him in from the cold, acknowledging that he had in fact been a massive star in his peak.
