TNA's signing of Kurt Angle in 2006 was arguably the most major coup in the company's history. Angle was still at his peak in terms of drawing power and performance, and he brought that to TNA in the form of dream matches with Samoa Joe and other talents.

In 2007, his wife, Karen, joined him as his manager, but the following year, she left the company. The Angles divorced soon afterward.

In 2009, news broke that Karen was dating TNA founder Jeff Jarrett, and the following year, they were married. What happened between the scenes with the Jarretts and Angle is anybody's guess, but in early 2011, they started a feud on television that clearly hit several sore spots for Angle.

It started with Karen merely attacking Angle on Jeff's behalf, but things soon escalated. As a result of losing a match, Angle was forced to walk Karen down the aisle for a vow renewal with Jeff.

The Jarretts also filmed vignettes with Angle's real-life children, where the kids called their stepfather "Daddy Jeff". This all built to a Parking Lot Brawl where, if Angle won, Jeff would have to move to Mexico without Angle's children.

The Olympic Gold Medalist was victorious, and Jarrett soon began working for Triple A.
